Friday Photo Shoot Out: Fences

This week's My Town Shootout theme is Fences.
There's a lot of potential with this topic, but I just didn't have the fortitude to get out and collect photos in the cold last weekend, and weekdays, well, are just impossible.

So this is my backyard. The vegetable patch has a little wire fence, just to show where the edges are. On the lawn side I don't mow too close because that's where irises and tulips and etc are planted.

The fence separating my yard from one of the neighbors.

The back fence is often covered with climbing weeds in the summer.
I try to keep that in check, but I'll never have the manicured lawn that they do.

The front fence keeping my car from escaping. Well, if I had a car and I wanted to mess with this gate every day instead of using the parking space on the street, that's what it would do. I think I even know where the key is.
My neighbor's fence is new. They just finished constructing the house last year.
From the archives of my other town, there's a fence at Torrey Pines that keeps people away from the fragile cliff-edges. Well, it may keep some of them away - there are plenty of footprints on the wrong side.

An ex-fence in a stream.

And a fence to tell the cows where to eat and where not to eat.

That's all, folks! To visit the other Shootout participants this week, click here.

I like the way you took the fence photos. It's perfect angle!

I know the feeling. I took photographs almost outside the front door - couldn't open the back one, due to the snow. You have done much better than I.

I always like photos of fog and of fences - so the fence in the fog is my favorite. the fences in your neighborhood are definitly to show ownership but to not keep others out. so you live in a quiet safe are, densely populated. (?) I personally like your weeds that protect the spring bulbs more than your neighbor's manicure. have a good weekend.

Your yard is about love, not perfection. You have the flowers and veggies going on. Your intitative is to be admired! The ocean header has no fences and makes a glorious contrast to all fenced in areas depicted. Ginger is right.... the fog and the barbed wire fence is
captivating!

Have a beautiful week! With love from Barry and Linda

I like the last photo best. The fog in the distance exudes a mystery. I also like the "ex-fence". Very cool.

Better keep an eye on Maurice cuz he's about to jump that fence and it could end badly! Seriously though, these are all wonderful and it is fun to imagine where you live.

I think Maurice will be alright. We've discovered that he floats (but with his teeny arms he's not a strong swimmer), and he's washable.
When we go out adventuring it's the rats I've got to keep track of!

Love your last shot...I could almost hear the cows mooing in the distance...oh, wait that is one of the managers here in the cubical down the hall...

I like the misty pasture fence photo. Love the feel it gives - the soft mist and the rough barbed wire.

Ohhh, I like the last one. Looks like an old west photo on the range in Texas where I grew up! I also have seen foot prints on the other side of the ledge, and wondered why are we so curious to look at what is below...

It is so good to see that Maurice made the show, even the header. Maurice, stay away from those cliffs! Thanks for a great time.

I love that last shot. BTW, in the one ocean shot, is that a pink bunny on the fence?
