Friday Photo Shoot Out: Sunrise & Sunset

Because it's freezing out this morning and I haven't put the heat on yet (I'll deal with that when I get home tonight!), for your Shoot Out pleasure here are some winter shots of dawn from the archives.

Glorious Nancy. Your photos capture the graceful, tranquility of the morning more eloquently than any words.

It almost makes me long for snow.

Wait a minute. I didn't say that. I take it back. I don't want to see snow yet, not sir. No I don't!

Oh thank goodness those are from the archives. My friends in Minnesota have had snow, but I shudder at the mere notion!!!

I love how all of these each produce a different feeling. Beautiful!

All of these are so beautiful, but the last one just took my breathe away. Gorgeous!

And I agree with Barry. It kind of makes me long for snow and I hate the idea of snow. Haha. :)

Beautiful winter pics! I just read your previous post on evolution, a great distraction from the sunset pics I've been looking at for the past 20 minutes!

Barry! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING??? Take that back!
Long for what? HELLO!
Nancy, I would like to get my paints out and paint all of these pics! The trees in the snow for sure, but the backlit forest is stunning! The tree textures make a nice counterpoint to the bright light. Lovely. thank you for sharing.

I'm with you, Kerry, in that I get terribly tired of looking at sunset pictures. Sun on horizon, dramatic sky. Typically over the sea, framed with trees. Especially right after the Silhouette theme, which included much of the same. I'm really happy with all the Shooters who went another way.

To Linda and all - I didn't really intend to do a winter show, but I've not had time to take new pictures for a couple of weeks now, and this is all there was in my archives. I just don't do sunsets. I love to watch them, but I never freeze them in photos.
As for dawn in the winter, it's a trial to go out in the cold, but at least you can sleep in and still get out there for sunrise!

I can feel the chill!

I do like the last photo with all the Autumn leaves spread beneath the bare trees. I would like to walk there and kick around those leaves.

Is the sunrise really that beautiful? If I thought I'd see sights like yours, I might be tempted to get out of bed a bit earlier. But it might make a difference that we don't have snow around here! They are beautiful shots, Nancy.

Doh, I'm sorry! there was a comment in duplicate, and when I tried to publish just one, I erased a whole batch! My bad!

I love all of the, but most of all the sun through the trees...funny how some of our photos could overlap into before and after posts!

love these! My favorites are the second and third ones; they are haunting but in a good way.
