Rhubarb

Cat of the Month time again, and I do mean to make up for April!
All last month, I meant to come up with something to say about cat number four, Rhubarb. But I just couldn't think of anything, and the month slipped away and here we are in May already. Where does the time go? Where did my memory go?

Rhubarb, Ruby, sister of Ernie, was meant to be a boy cat. That’s what friend and neighbor Clem said when she gave us the pair of kittens, siblings also of Mitten and Brand X. I guess it isn’t easy to be sure with the little ones, because this wasn’t the last time that various kitten-givers would make the mistake. My Bandersnatch would have gone to a different home if only not mistaken for a boy.
She was almost all black, with just touches of white here and there. I was nine and then ten, and young cats in the yard were perfect playmates, perfect companions on the bed at night. Ruby was one of those cats you can do anything with. Carry them around. Give them haircuts. Dress them up.
Here's to having cats!

I'll drink to that! We have five house cats, all spayed and neutered, and plucked from the streets when they were tiny kittens.

The oldest is almost 15, the youngest is 2. Where does the time go?

I love cats.

They can't help not being dogs.

Oh, and I thought I was going to get a recipe...what a freaking cute name for a cat! My friend has one named Houdini, and another her short hair is 'Coco Chanel'...obsessed in college french I name my white Persian, Manon of the spring, like the movie, lol

Love it!

Alas, no recipes, Chef E (Cheffy?). I don't go much beyond nachos or pasta. No time! Though I should make some corn bread for my lab. They love it, and they've never seen it anywhere else. It's so easy it's cheating!
My best cat names are Pandemonium, Yersinia Pestis, and the Frumious Bandersnatch. hmm. does that say something about me?
