Friday Photo Shoot Out: Doors and Windows

I'm a little rushed this week, what with the start of the academic year and all. I may have to flake on next week's Old and Weathered, but I'll try. This is the door to my gardening shed.
One of the pocket-sized churches in a village within hiking distance of my town. The teeny windows are typical, making them very dark inside.

Same hike, different village, an old farmhouse. Too bad the windows on the right tower are all bricked up. On the other side, they've torn out most of the wall to put in huge, modern windows.

The patients' entrance to our oncogenetics consultation - soon to be destroyed (see the work starting off to the right...).
The door to my office, where I spend more time than anywhere but my bed.

Loved your gardening shed door and those churches seem so romantic.

You are lucky to be living in a country with such history available. Most things with some history in West Hill have been torn down by now, like the entrance to your oncogenetics department.

And the door to your office has colour! At my work the doors to all the offices are brown.

to have this many beautiful churches within hiking distance - lucky girl!
I think the churches used to be protection for the village - therefore the small windows.
your shed is old and weathered show the photo again next week and tell its history.

hey nanu, cool post. i love to see buildings from other countries - especially older structures that are weathered and timeworn. the shot through the church door with the sliver of stained glass in the dark is especially evocative. steven

Too rushed!? These pictures are fab and thank you for showing me your town. I especially liked the reflection from the stained glass window but I liked your little garden shed door. Reminded me of a Ty Bach (little house) its what we call toilets outside, outside closets?

I like your garden shed door. I don't think of giving color to a shed door. Great idea to include your office.

The abstract color one grabs me, as abstract color shots usually do. Great collection.

I like the peeking inside the church door to see the stained glass window.

I love your garden shed door!

It is amazing to see that beautiful architecture juxtaposed with modern...even just the doors. In France, I have only ever been to Paris, but I wanted more than anything to explore the French countryside.

That house on my blog - it is in Port Huron, MI. I have loved it since I was seven or so...twenty long years I have loved and admired that house.

I like your shed door. If you had to, you could use it in next weeks' theme. Those old farm houses are incredible. They are beautiful. Your photos are so awesome. I would love to hike down your trails.

The original people who build the farm house must bevery rich, I thought it was a church. Buildings like this should be preserved.

I shall like a peek into your office/room and your shed.

I love the old buildings and churches :) - they're so unique and carry a story of age with them.

Thanks for the peek into your world. Get a more soothing color for your office door. No wonder Maurice is so unpredictable.
Just kidding. Great stuff.

You have the gorgeous French countryside at your doorstep, with so many beautiful old sites. I enjoyed looking at your pics; you know I really like the one of the little window with the white shade half-drawn.

Lovely shots. I love doors and old churches and the way light looks as it comes through stained glass windows. Nice!

Great banner pic, too. Are those aspens?

The hike was kind of you and the pictures were so different. With all the beautiful sunlight in France you think the windows would be somewhat bigger. I love the towers attached to the buildings. Your colourful doors are devine. Thank you, NanU!
