Friday Photo Shoot Out: My Favorite...

This week’s Friday My Town Shoot Out theme is “My favorite things”.
One of my favorite things is traveling, but I’ve been posting photos from my travels so often recently that I think I’ll give you a break on that. Who needs to see the Torrey Pines State Beach one more time?
Ok, me: that’s who!

And then there’s my faithful traveling companion, Maurice. Who needs a fickle guy when you can just stuff Maurice in the luggage and leave him there if you don’t like his ideas?

My favorite things in my town include messing around in the garden.

Cats on the bed.

Exploring with my brother.

And knitting. Is the color OK, Barry? It’s a disappointing season for greens (unless you’re looking for muddy olive or radioactive lime), so I went with a blue-green mix. Alright, mostly blue.
.
See you next week!

Okay, now I see the beach and I want Winter over with! Ha... I love to explore to, take quiet moments to learn about new things!

I need a vacation to your picturesque part of the world. Maurice could show me around.

The colour is perfect, and so is the beach and so is Maurice!

And your brother looks cool too.

Since it's going down to zero here tomorrow, you wouldn't necessarily want to visit our beach! Nor would I.

I like your favorite things, except the knitting part... I can't stand to do little things with my hands, chopping trees, lifting weights, making bread, yes.... my mother is still trying to get me to knit I will forever dissapoint.

Great photos! Is there such a thing as too many pictures of the ocean? I think not!
I'd love to know where you where in the picture of your brother.
And I like the colors you're knitting!

Hi Shabby Girl, my brother (and Maurice) were in the village of La Roque Gageac, in the Perigord area, a bit west and south of the center of France.

I love Maurice! We had a garden gnome that we took around on trips, too, but then he got kidnapped :( Very sad! I love your pictures this week - very pretty :)

You live in one of the world's great places to explore. I'll join you any day. Maurice can come too, of course.

Love Maurice. I could easily put him amongst my favourite things. He wouldn't answer back or argue, would he? The ideal companian, then. Mind you, it's pretty hard to beat brothers! My problem is I have seven of them and can never pick a favourite!

Traveling is my very favorite thing to do. I love to explore. Your photo of your brother on the steps is stunning. I love it a lot.

This has to be one of my favorite Shoot-Outs of all time. How lovely! Maurice sounds like a great traveling companion, and the photos of your home inspire me to add a little French flair to my own little corner of the world. Thanks for such a great post :)

You knit with a circular needle and make a tube? I haven't done that. When I made booties, I used 3 needles.

Your bro is very handsome. is he taken?

NanU said...

I've never knit a sweater in the round before, but if the tube is just a bit longer than the needles, it works well. For small things like socks and mittens it couldn't be done that way. Anyway, you can't take straight needles on airplanes any more!

I missed the beach when I saw your first photo. And I missed that pink rabbit. I wish to learn knitting.

I've gone off you! Fancy threatening to leave poor Maurice there!

A great post as always.

NanU said...

Ah, but Scriptor, the beauty is that Maurice is too wise to ever have bad ideas (or at least to share them with me). So he never gets left in the luggage. The thing is in knowing that I _could_ leave him...

You're not the only one who must see more pics of this beautiful place. Thank you!

Maurice is awesome and looks good no matter where he is or from which angle he is photographed. Wow!
