Evening Jam

Monday's Poetry Jam theme is Evening, and for once I've got one early.

In the northern summer
when evening comes late,
so very late
the children go in before the light is full gone
and I have the swings in the park
all to my peaceful self.

Beautiful. I can hear their laughing voices receding as they run home and the chains squeeking as you swing. Good theme. I'll work on it. Although I never post before Sunday because of the Friday photo shoot.

Wonderful! I find I can't go on swings any more now that I'm old. They make me motion sick! How sad.

I love swings - & this evokes exactly how I feel about them. Thanks!

So lovely to read...I like that image.

You are early this week. I post towards the end of the week; this is like my weekend post.

I once was up in the northern parts in summer when the light stayed until 10 in the evening. You brought that memory back. I sat on a swing in the park this week, and realized my hips really getting arthritic. Oh, age.

Spot on. I am north a bit (48 degrees) but also on the west edge of a time zone. Fireworks shows begin at 11 p.m.

I don't know where you live, but I can picture you swinging! I often swing myself. One is NEVER too old to enjoy this!

I saw a sneeky grin on your face, swinging while the kids reluctantly brushed their teeth before bed. Lovely! Here from Poetry Jam Shah. x
