Monday poem

June

Tall grass invaded with flowers,
Blue and yellow
Jumping with butterflies and crickets
Birds visiting
Mice down at the roots
Sun smiling wide

A paradise for cats.

This week's bus is being driven by Weaver, and she set us a nice, serene, theme. Take the tour here!

Nice! Reminds me of one of those nature documentaries at ground level with the high-powered camera.

Delightful images, you conjured a back garden for me, and I loved "Sun smiling wide".
A poem with life in every line, enjoyed it and it made me smile!

A picture as good as any painter could hope to achieve. The final line brings it down to earth well.

And a paradise for people too - loved it - this nature theme has certainly brought out the best in people - maybe it is the right time of year for such a poem. Thanks for hopping on the bus.

When I saw the photo of your back yard uncut I thought ther could well be a poem in it. I scrolled down... and there was!

I suppose we do have to cut grass in our yards/gardens - I'd have done it myself. It always seems a shame, though. I sometimes see those packets of wildflower seeds and I fantasise about scattering them all over the lawn and just leaving it. However, I never actually do it.
